New "durrrr" Challenge Goes Live In London

The first million dollar challenge with Patrik Antonius is not even finnished yet.

But that's not stopping poker wonderkind Tom "durrrr" Dwan from throwing out another one.

This time, however, the action will take place live in London this September and Dwan will face off against 4 different opponents in a series of $500,000 heads-up matches.

Matchroom Sport, a television distribution company in the U.K. will produce the shows, and have just announced the new durrrr Challenge.

He is totally fearless and ready to take on any player that is willing to face-off in the Million Dollar match up. This will be the most hotly anticipated match-up in the poker world.

The challenge will see Dwan take on each of the 4 opponents over 500 hands. Buy-in is $500k and blinds will be $500/$1000.

Each opponent can pick between Pot-Limit Omaha or No-Limit Hold'em, and no one can quit until 500 hands are played or the player has busted.

Details on the opponents who have accepted the challenge will be released over the coming weeks.

Challenge: 16,000 SNG’s in 31 days and $10,000 in Profits.

The Sit & Go specialist and Poker Pro Nick Rainey, broke the previous world record of number of Sit & Go's played online in one month.

Nick Rainey has allready played more than 14,000 games in about 20 days.
The previous world record was 10,351 SNG played in one month.

The goal of this challenge is to play 16,000 sit & go's in one month and make a profit of $10,000.

Durrrr Challenge: Durrrr Back In The Lead.

Just a quick update on the Durrrr challenge.

In a short session between durrrr and Patrik Antonius last night durrrr won $55k.

With that win he is back in the lead, right now durrrr is in front with $30k.

Patrik Antonius was in front in the challenge last week, so it will be exiting to see who wins this challenge.

Patrik was the one calling it a night as he said he needed to sleep, but he said that they will play later tomorrow so keep your eyes open for more durrrr and Patrik action tonight.

Durrrr Challenge: Patrik Antonius In Front.

Tom " Durrrr " Dwan has been in front most of this challenge VS. Patrik Antonius, but last night Patrik finaly got in front when he was the winner of the session.

Durrrr and Antonius has now played a little more than 5.500 poker hands on Fulltilt poker.

They have to play 50.000 hands in total at the Fulltilt poker real money tables, so there is still many hands to go before we will see the winner of the Durrrr VS. Antonius challenge.

After last nights session Patrik Antonius is up $110.000 in total.

Doyle Brunson Is Willing To Play Anybody.

Some time ago Doyle Brunson made comments about how he would "swim a river" to play "the Internet stars" in a real cash game, and in Doyles new blog post he is now willing to challenge anybody.

Doyle brunson writes:
I’m getting old, there is nothing I can do about that, but I’m still willing to play anybody "Doyle Sez", where I can name the game and change to another game when I want to. If any of the internet stars, that don’t play live, want to play, I’ll give them half their money back if they lose if they play 8 hours a day for a week.

Doyle also defends him self and says, that only live poker counts.
So when Doyle said he never saw a poker game that he couldn’t beat, he meant 6 or more players sitting down at a live poker table, and not on the internet where players might be talking on the phone or sending IMs.

Doyle Brunson is a 10 time WSOP bracelet winner who has logged a tremendous amount of hours playing nearly every poker game under the sun.

Gus And Theo Battled It Out In The Boxing Ring.

On Saturday afternoon, the poker world was focused on an event that had nothing to do with the poker game. Fulltilt Poker pro Gus Hansen battled it out against Bet24 poker pro Theo Jorgensen inside a boxing ring.

The festivities kicked off at 2:00pm Eastern Time, with Jorgensen donning black shorts with white stripes and black headgear. Hansen wore solid black trunks and blue headgear. In the end, Hansen dropped the decision to Jorgensen by a judges’ vote.The match took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In order to prepare for Saturday’s boxing match, Hansen trained with former Olympic medalist Johnny De Lima.

But three rounds into the fight, the panel of judges ruled in favor of Theo Jorgensen. Gus Hansen stood in the ring after the match with his opponent, whom he is friends with outside of the poker tables, and did not appear to be badly injured.

Hansen placed a handicap on himself in the match. Jorgensen’s win earned him $35,000. If Hansen had won, he would have paid his adversary $25,000.

During the fight, play was paused in the Durrrr challenge between Patrik Amtonius and Dwan. Saturday marked the second day of play in the promotion, which features a $1.5 million wager by Dwan if anyone can defeat him in 50,000 hands of $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha or No Limit Hold’em.

The Durrrr Challenge has started.

The first session in the "durrrr Challenge" kicked off with Tom "durrrr" Dwan taking on Patrik Antonius. Thus far, Antonius, Phil Ivey, and David Benyamine have all accepted Dwan's challenge.

Antonius and Dwan played 1,541 of the required 50,000 hands, with Dwan emerging a $134,911.50 winner over the course of the first session. The game was PLO and they played on four of the eight "durrrr Challenge" tables that are currently set up on Full Tilt poker.

When the $500-$1,000 action on Full Tilt broke Saturday afternoon, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Patrik Antonius agreed to resume their "durrrr Challenge" match.

Dwan and Antonius sat down for their second session, where Dwan won $36,661 over the course of 92 hands before pausing to take a lunch break. Action resumed 2,5 hours later and they played 1288 hands.

As they started the second session of the day, Dwan was up $171,573 over the life of the challenge, but Antonius made a huge comeback, booking a $228,069 win to put him ahead of Dwan by a total of $56,178 over the 2,915 hands they have logged thus far on their way to a total of 50,000 hands.

Antonius quit the match at just after 9 pm EST, Dwan congratulating him on the win.

Fulltilt Poker Getting Ready For The Durrrr Challenge.

The first "durrrr" challenge, which should be Patrik Antonius vs Tom Dwan is supposed to get underway at any moment at Fulltilt Poker.

Fulltilt Poker has accommodated Dwan and Antonius by opening up four "durrrr" Challenge $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables. They are all heads-up tables, as this will be a heads-up challenge.

Dwan made headlines in the poker world earlier this year when he issued his challenge. Anyone was welcome to accept, except for Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond.


The challenge:

A heads-up battle that would consist of at least 50,000 hands. Four tables would be played at all times, with minimum stakes of $200/$400. Dwan would allow his opponent to choose the game of choice from Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hold'em or a mix of the two.

If Dwan's opponent was ahead (after rake) at the end of the challenge, then Dwan would pay out $1.5 million dollars on top of whatever he lost during the challenge.

If Dwan was ahead after rake, then his opponent would have to cough up an additional $500,000.

At least three players apparently accepted the terms of the challenge, including: Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and David Benyamine.

Antonius will be getting the first crack at "durrrr", and the challenge should get underway this week.

Gus And Theo Inside The Boxing Ring.

On February 21st, three-time World Poker Tour Champion Gus Hansen will square off against World Series of Poker bracelet holder Theo Jorgensen.

The match won’t take place at the poker table, however. Instead, it will be inside a boxing ring. The two Danes will duel in the debut of Gus TV.

If Hansen beats Jorgensen in the boxing arena, Jorgensen will fork over $25,000. If Jorgensen wins, he’ll earn $35,000 from Hansen.

However, this match is far from being solely about the money, as Jorgensen quipped: “Forget about the money, this is all about the glory. The loser of this fight will definitely hear about it for many years to come.

Tickets to the event can be purchased online and currently run 249 DKK (approximately $40) and the spectacle kicks off at 21:00 local time.

Daniel Negreanu´s Blog: From $10 To $100.000

Daniel Negreanu has been spotted at the microstakes NL cash tables blinds $0.01-$0.02. at Pokerstars.

Starting from just $10 Negreanu will try to turn it into a whopping $100.000.

As Daniel writes on he´s blog "" This is actually way more fun than I thought it was going to be.""

Daniel Negreanu has set a bunch of rules, one of them is to play poker with a 500 big blind bankroll, and move up a level whenever he has 500 big blinds to the next level.

Here is a list of all the rules:

1. I won't move up in limits unless I have 500 big blinds for that limit. I'm starting at $0.01-$0.02 with a $10 bankroll.

2. When possible, my buy in amount will allow me 5 buy ins at that limit. For example, if I have $5 left, my buy in for the game will be $1. I'll continue to do that until I dip below the min buy in.


3. I will play only NL cash games. I'll try to play full ring games as much as possible.

4. If I double my bankroll in a session I'll quit on my blind to help avoid risking too high a percentage of my bankroll in any one hand.

5. At about the $5-$10 limit I may decide to increase the number of big blinds required to move up in limits. 500 BB's is plenty for the micro games, but could be rather short for the higher limit games with better opponents. I'll base my decision on when to do that at my discretion.

6. I may also lower the buy in amount for the higher limit games from 1/5th of my bankroll per session to 1/10th of my bankroll per session. Again, I'll make that decision when the time comes.

7. When the amount needed to reach the goal is less than the 1/5th of the bankroll buy in, the buy in will be equal to the amount needed to reach the goal. Example: If 1/5th of the bankroll is $4.50 but you only need $2.50 to reach the goal, the buy in for the next session will be $2.50.

Patrik Antonius warming up $1 million profit vs durrrr

highstakesdb.com just spottet Patrik Antonius and durrrr playing on the online poker tables.


And they thought it was the beginning of the challange, but after a while other players sat down on the tables so it was probably just a warm up.

And, what can you say, this was for sure a cooler for durrrr since Patrik left the Mixed HA tables with a $1 million profit and $875k was from durrrr.

Phil Ivey Accepts Durrr's Poker Challenge.

Millions Expected to Change Hands in High Stakes Battle.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan told Card Player about his challenge last month, and it is described in full detail in the magazine’s upcoming cover story about him, set to hit casinos this week.

Basically, Dwan has challenged anyone in the world — with the sole exception being his good friend and professional poker player Phil Galfond — to play 50,000 hands with him heads up, in either no-limit Texas hold'em or pot-limit Omaha at $200-$400 stakes at a minimum of four online poker tables.

"I don't get enough people to play me heads up. Even though there is more money to be made in other games, rather than playing heads up at one or two tables, it's so interesting and you learn a lot," said Dwan. "I think I might have an edge here, but it's more to have fun and gamble a bit. That's why I'm making this challenge."

If, at the end of the 50,000 hands, his opponent is up, Dwan will fork over an additional $1.5 million to pad his opponent's winnings. If Dwan is up, he keeps the profits, as well as another $500,000 from the competitor.

Ivey conceded that Dwan might have an edge early on in the battle, since he is not as used to multi-tabling as the online pro is.

“The funny thing is, he probably does have an edge,” said Ivey. “There’s something tempting about that million and a half to $500,000.”

Ivey also said that Patrik Antonius, as well as a number of other poker pros, have indicated that they are interested in taking up the 22-year-old phenom.
