The 2009 World Series Of Poker Just Started

The 2009 World Series of Poker just started with the $40,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event, at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Among the poker legends taking a shot at the first WSOP bracelet event of 2009 were Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan, Phil Ivey, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Chris Moneymaker, John Juanda, and 2008 WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate.

Phil Hellmuth’s entrance was typically late into the event, as he showed up well into the fourth level of play, nothing unusual about that.

Peter Eastgate had a bad start of WSOP 2009 when he was eliminated by Charles Lehr on day 1.
The complete 2009 schedule as announced will again include the much discussed delay for the Main Event final table, with 2009's eventual "November Nine" slated to return to the Rio on November 7th for the prestigious title.

The 2009 World Series of Poker features 57 bracelet events spread over seven weeks of action from late May to mid-July.

The 2008 WSOP Main Event champion Peter Eastgate cashed more than $9million for his 1.st place finnish.

Good luck to all players in WSOP 2009.
