WSOP 2009 Main Event Episode 1 And 2 World Series of Poker 2009

World Series of Poker started Friday, 3rd of July 2009. The place was Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Wednesday evening was the time that poker fans across the world was waiting for.

The $10.000 WSOP 2009 Main Event just started at the Rio in Las Vegas, this tournament is the world championship of poker, and is the last World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas in 2009.

The WSOP 2009 Main Event will feature 4 starting days, each player gets 30.000 in chips, and it will take 8 days of play to reach the final table.

After the success seen in the WSOP 2008, one major item will remain the same, the November Nine format.

The final 9 players remaining in the main event will once again go on a 4 month hiatus before coming back to play out the action Nov. 7-10. The intent is to build up anticipation for the year's biggest poker event.

New "durrrr" Challenge Goes Live In London

The first million dollar challenge with Patrik Antonius is not even finnished yet.

But that's not stopping poker wonderkind Tom "durrrr" Dwan from throwing out another one.

This time, however, the action will take place live in London this September and Dwan will face off against 4 different opponents in a series of $500,000 heads-up matches.

Matchroom Sport, a television distribution company in the U.K. will produce the shows, and have just announced the new durrrr Challenge.

He is totally fearless and ready to take on any player that is willing to face-off in the Million Dollar match up. This will be the most hotly anticipated match-up in the poker world.

The challenge will see Dwan take on each of the 4 opponents over 500 hands. Buy-in is $500k and blinds will be $500/$1000.

Each opponent can pick between Pot-Limit Omaha or No-Limit Hold'em, and no one can quit until 500 hands are played or the player has busted.

Details on the opponents who have accepted the challenge will be released over the coming weeks.
